Fendi appoints Maria Grazia Chiuri as Chief Creative Officer of the Roman Maison

Chiuri will present her first collection for Autumn/Winter 2026 next February during Milan Fashion Week.

Storied Roman fashion house, Fendi, has named Maria Grazia Chiuri as their new Chief Creative Officer. The news was announced by Fendi via their official Instagram channel, shortly after announcing the departure of Sylvia Venturini, the house scion and granddaughter of the of the founders.

This isn’t the first time Chiuri has worked at Fendi, she was briefly tenured the fashion label as an accessories designer between 1989 and 1999, where she led the development of the brand’s iconic Baguette bag.

Chiuri was last at French house Dior, serving as their creative director since 2016, up until six months ago, when news of her stepping down sparked rumours of where she might go next.

“Maria Grazia Chiuri is one of the greatest creative talents in fashion today, and I am delighted that she has chosen to return to Fendi to continue expressing her creativity within the LVMH group, after sharing her bold vision of fashion. Surrounded by the Fendi teams and in a city that is dear to her, I am convinced that Maria Grazia will contribute to the artistic renewal and future success of the Maison, while perpetuating its unique heritage." says Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH Group.
