The French luxury fashion house will partner with Alta Real Estate Development to launch 25 bespoke residential units.

This month has seen the announcement of fashion house Maison Margiela’s first residential project in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah. The French label had announced plans for their expansion in luxury living earlier this year, after their exploration across design and interiors in the last many years.

This project is realised in collaboration with Alta Real Estate Development. The complex comprises of 25 bespoke residential units, which have been designed by Maison Margiela and make use of gold accents that complement a white base design, applying use of materials such as resin and travertine. Design codes of the house, such as trompe-l’œil, deconstruction, and transformation, are further echoed in the residential spaces.

"It was a real pleasure to bring together the codes of more than 30 years of an iconic fashion house’s history, led by the greatest couturiers, including Martin Margiela, John Galliano and now Glenn Martens. I hope this project will mark the beginning of many others," said Renzo Rosso, chairman of the OTB Group.

Abdulla Al Tayer, managing director of Alta Real Estate Development, added: "As the first collaboration of its kind in the world, this project combines iconic design with a bespoke experience, redefining the art of living in Dubai."

The interiors are designed to complement the exteriors, with furniture designed by Italian architect, Carlo Colombo. Amenities of the space includes an art gallery, library, fitness studio, infinity pool, a spa, and a Margiela Café.

The development is set to open in March 2028.
